Visa Information

The following list includes all Nations not requiring a visa to come to Malawi.

NB: All countries not included on the list need a visa to enter Malawi

The costs of visa are as follows:-

• Payment by cash only.

• A single visa application form should be completed and submitted with two passport size pictures.

• Ensure at least your passport is valid for 6 months before expiry period when you travel to Malawi.

• Visa applications are processed every Thursday from 10:00 hrs to 15:00hrs and can be collected the same day.

• Appointments should be arranged in advance either by email or phone.

NEW PASSPORT APPLICATIONS AND PASSPORT RENEWALS

Malawian nationals who wish to renew their passports should follow the following process:-

• Complete two passport application forms

• Submit two photographs

• Endorse right thumb print in the space marked RTP

• Submit old passport

• £40.00 fee for new passports. Postal Orders or cash only.

• £45.00 for replacing a lost passport and this application should include a Police report.

• Application for a new passport for a child will still cost £40.00 but a child consent form and copy of a birth certificate must be included

APPLICATIONS FOR A TRAVEL DOCUMENT

Malawian nationals who wish to travel back to Malawi and unfortunately lost their passports should follow the following process:- 

• Submit a Police report to explain the situation

• Submit two photographs

• Should report in person at the High Commission and if they live far away, they should send by post their application for a Travel Document which should also include a self addressed envelope.

• The date and point of departure (Airport) should be indicated.

• If applying for a baby include a copy of the child’s Birth Certificate.

• £13.00 fee for a Travel Document in Postal Orders or Cash only must be paid.

NB :A Travel document is only valid to travel from the UK straight to Malawi
